The objective of the project is to enable rural people to increase their productive assets in ways that improve natural resource management and resilience to climate change in selected vulnerable sites. Its focus is on Rural Production and Land Resource Management Investments.

It is part of the Environmental Land Management and Rural Livelihoods Project, funded under the Pilot Programme for Climate Resilience and the Global Environmental Facility and implemented by the Committee for Environmental Protection (CEP), through an Implementation Group (IG) with support from the World Bank.

For a 30-month project in Khatlon, southern Tajikistan, Oxfam is looking for a Specialist on Environment to work on capacity building of local communities and stakeholders, and development and monitoring of rural livelihoods sub-projects, applying participatory approaches.

Required qualifications:

  • Relevant educational background in environmental issues.
  • Extensive experience in rural livelihoods and environmental assessments, land use management and climate change adaptation issues.
  • Experience in participatory approaches.
  • English, Tajik, Russian languages.
